It’s all go today

Missys chick has left the nest and it is almost as big as her.

Missy used to live in our garden until the BIG SPLIT and territory takeover.

She lives up the road with her parents and has no husband. Her father will not look me straight in the eye.

Here you can see the chick being bribed with food to climb the tree and safety.

A few years ago I saw one of the neighboring fledglings just standing in the middle of an intersection.

Its mother offered food and when the chick opened its beak she withdrew the offer and stepped backwards and the chick followed. She had to repeat this a number of times to get the chick to safety.
