Yesterday all 5 appeared on the front lawn at 4.30.
I chose to ignore them.
Later I noticed the 3 adults still out the front
but the 2 young were staking out the back garden somewhere they are seldom seen.
A little later the young ones had gone and were replaced by a cat sniffing around the same spot.
Time for a feed and the big chick was nowhere to be seen.
Searched everywhere and called him but no show.
Looked for feathers.
He eventually showed up desperate for the food he missed out on.
As he was sitting on my arm I said to him “Jane and I don’t mind if you go out as long as you tell us where you are going and what time you will be back”
